Google Calendar
We have been using Google Apps for our own Email, Calendar, Docs shared collaboration system.  When we discovered that an integrated Google Calendar could be incorporated into our web-site, we knew that we had yet another way to update our site dynamically and improve communication with our customers.

CentOS
Community ENTerprise Operating System The foundation level of all the software that makes up our system is the Linux operating system.  We are using Linux because it is stable, powerful, and has a huge community of developers that are committed to its continued growth and expansion of features.  CentOS is a Linux distribution project of open source community developers that are maintaining a free and open source version of the commercially supported Red Hat Enterprise edition of Linux.  We are grateful to the developers at CentOS for providing a cost effective solution that enables small business to enjoy system software that has long since been available and affordable to the giant corporate entities.  Small business can now begin to grow and thrive without the vendor lock-in inherent with most other commercial operating systems.  CentOS may be freely downloaded at:  http://www.centos.org/

Publications

Credit is due to the author Barrie M North and the publisher Prentice Hall for the book Joomla! A Users Guide.  This book was a valuable resource in helping to grasp the overall design concepts of Joomal!.  Amazon.com

Another great text is the "stylin' with CSS - A Designers Guide, Second Edition" authored by Charles Wyke-Smith, published by NewRiders.  This book continues to give me new ideas and things to try.

PHP
PHP is the scripting language that powers the majority of the modules used in Joomla! It works hand in hand with the Apache web server and allows a web site to deliver dynamic pages.  PHP is also an open source project and is available to anyone to use and contribute to its functionality.

Apache
The web server itself is Apache and also quietly serves up each and every web page.

MySQL

The database engine that runs quietly behind the scenes and serving up pages and managing user details is MySQL.  MySQL is also an open source project that is available free of charge and continues maintain its systems with new features and updates for its user base.  http://www.mysql.com

RSJoomla
RSJomla is the developer of RSForm!Pro which is a commercial form development tool component library that runs in the administrator system of Joomla!  It has been an instrumental part of the system as far as it allowing us to quickly implement sophisticated web-based forms.  Plus... the developers (Sebastian and Alex) have been very helpful in implementing some special functions that went beyond the design capabilities of the tool.   http://www.rsjoomla.com/

RocketTheme
RocketTheme.com is a commercial theme developer specializing in themes for Joomla! The theme we choose is called Catalyst and is their featured theme for May 2008.  Each month RocketTheme published at least one new theme.  Many of the site graphics and effects that give the site its unique personality were brought about by the designers at RocketTheme.com and much credit is due.  http://www.rockettheme.com/
